Positions: 

Notice: TURNER & TURNER CONTRACTING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING TO HIRE QUALIFIED TEMPORARY SECTION 3 WORKERS.
           Section 3 Workers are those who currently or when hired within the past five years fit at least one of the following categories, as documented: 

• A LOW OR VERY LOW-INCOME RESIDENT (THE WORKER’S INCOME FOR THE PREVIOUS OR ANNUALIZED CALENDAR YEAR IS BELOW THE INCOME LIMIT ESTABLISHED BY HUD); OR
• THE WORKER IS EMPLOYED BY A SECTION 3 BUSINESS CONCERN.
• THE WORKER IS A YOUTHBUILD PARTICIPANT.

Heavy Equipment Operator:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Expertly maneuver excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and graders. Handle complex tasks like erecting materials, laying roadbeds, and precision earthmoving.
• Act as the first line of defense for our fleet. Conduct daily inspections, detect mechanical issues early, and perform basic repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage the loading and unloading of heavy machinery from trailers; ensure all tools and equipment are present and mission-ready for the crew.
• Strictly adhere to company safety policies and OSHA standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site.
• Accurately complete daily logs, maintenance reports, and project documentation.

Experience & Skills:

• A minimum of six years of professional heavy‑equipment operation is required, and candidates must be experienced in dozer and excavator operation.
• Ability to read blueprints, site plans, and technical manuals with ease.
• Superior eye/hand/foot coordination and a sharp eye for detail.
• Strong critical thinking skills to troubleshoot mechanical issues or site challenges on the fly.
• A Commercial Driver's License is highly preferred.
• Strong communication and a team-first mentality. We work hard, and we work together.

General Laborer:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Measure materials, cut/saw boards, mark cutting lines, anchor and brace forms, and assist with layout tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Assist with forming, placing, leveling, and finishing concrete; support asphalt placement and finishing as needed.
• Erect forms, framework, and scaffolding; install structures, fixtures, and other components required for project completion.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Follow all established safety regulations and immediately report any violations or hazards to management.

Experience & Skills:

• Hands-on experience with concrete carpentry, forming, and finishing is strongly preferred.
  
• ​A dependable, “get-it-done” attitude with a willingness to learn all aspects of the construction process.
• Ability to take direction well and coordinate effectively with the Field Manager and crew.
• ​Punctuality and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment.
