Positions: 

  Notice: TURNER & TURNER CONTRACTING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING TO HIRE QUALIFIED TEMPORARY SECTION 3 WORKERS.
           Section 3 Workers are those who currently or when hired within the past five years fit at least one of the following categories, as documented: 

• A LOW OR VERY LOW-INCOME RESIDENT (THE WORKER’S INCOME FOR THE PREVIOUS OR ANNUALIZED CALENDAR YEAR IS BELOW THE INCOME LIMIT ESTABLISHED BY HUD); OR
• THE WORKER IS EMPLOYED BY A SECTION 3 BUSINESS CONCERN.
• THE WORKER IS A YOUTHBUILD PARTICIPANT.

General Laborer:

Qualifications:

• Construction: 2 years' experience ​(Required)
• Driver's License (Required)
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain an atmosphere wherein all employees will be stimulated and motivated to do things that need to be done to achieve desired results.
• Continue to work in all areas of construction (each Job) as needed by Construction Mgr. Field Mgr. or others.
• Measure materials, Cut or Saw Boards and etc.
• Mark cutting lines, Anchor brace forms and etc.
• Place and finish concrete, asphalt material as needed.
• Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, and form setting.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations.
• Install structures and fixtures as needed.
• Inspect jobsite as needed.
• Clean Jobsite as needed.
• Report any deliberate abuse of company policy to construction or field Mgrs.
• Implement company values at all times - ITR (Integrity, Trust, Respect)

​Heavy Equipment Operator:

Qualifications:

• Driver's License (Required)
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Heavy equipment operation: 5 years' experience (Required)
• CDL A (Preferred)

​Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operates heavy equipment specifically: Excavators and Dozers to cut and set grades, spread and level dirt and gravel to specifications.
• Must be able to demonstrate skills on jobsite.
• Experience working on Construction projects as well as in the Industrial sector
• Performs pre and post inspections and performs minor maintenance of the equipment
• Can read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• Recognize the importance of safety on the job site
• Be a team player, with a willingness to assist in a variety of roles on the site
• Performs assignments as director or as responsibilities necessitate.

Asphalt Paving Foreman:

Qualifications:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

• Construction Foreman: 10 years’ experience as a construction foreman [Drainage, Paving: Asphalt & Concrete, Site Work] (Required)
• Driver's License (Required)

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement and manage all aspects of asphalt paving projects.
• Create and monitor schedules for each crew member to ensure that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
• Brief crew members about how daily tasks need to be carried out.
• Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
• Review construction documents as needed with designers/owners.
• Manage costs efficiently to yield profits: Labor, Materials, Tools.
• Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
• Perform inspections to ensure that the crew’s performance is up to the set standards.
• Ensure periodic maintenance and proper storage of construction equipment and tools.
• Maintain a clean job site daily; through-out the day.
• Report any deliberate abuse of company policy to construction or Field Mgrs.
• Always implement the company’s core values: Integrity, Trust, & Respect.
