Positions: 

  Notice: TURNER & TURNER CONTRACTING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING TO HIRE QUALIFIED TEMPORARY SECTION 3 WORKERS.
           Section 3 Workers are those who currently or when hired within the past five years fit at least one of the following categories, as documented: 
  • A LOW OR VERY LOW-INCOME RESIDENT (THE WORKER’S INCOME FOR THE PREVIOUS OR ANNUALIZED CALENDAR YEAR IS BELOW THE INCOME LIMIT ESTABLISHED BY HUD); OR
  • THE WORKER IS EMPLOYED BY A SECTION 3 BUSINESS CONCERN.
  • THE WORKER IS A YOUTHBUILD PARTICIPANT.
Heavy Equipment Operator:
​
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maneuver and manipulate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and graders.
  • Transport earth or other materials, erecting and installing construction materials, and laying down roadbeds
  • Maintain safety standards, inspecting machines, and performing basic repairs
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Detect and fix operating problems.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of construction equipment and tools to ensure everything is in working condition.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Required Skills:
  • 5+ years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read manuals and blueprints/plans.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
General Laborer:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ​Create and maintain an atmosphere wherein all employees will be stimulated and motivated to do things that need to be done to achieve desired results.
  • Continue to work in all areas of construction (each Job) as needed by Construction Manager, Field Manager, or others.
  • Measure materials, Cut or Saw Boards, etc.
  • Mark cutting lines, Anchor brace forms, etc.
  • Place and finish concrete, asphalt material as needed.
  • Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, and form setting.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations.
  • Install structures and fixtures as needed.
  • Inspect job site as needed.
  • Clean job site as needed.
  • Report any deliberate abuse of company policy to construction or field Mgrs.
  • Always implement company values - ITR (Integrity, Trust, Respect)


General Foreman:
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project Execution: Plan, implement, and manage daily construction tasks to meet aggressive goals and high standards.
  • Team Leadership: Create employee schedules and brief crews on daily objectives. You are responsible for the physical and mental readiness of your team.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure job sites are clean, hazardous materials are managed, and work orders are accurate and efficient before the first shovel hits the ground.
  • Resource Management: Manage labor, materials, and tools with a profit-focused mindset. Ensure all machinery is maintained and staged for maximum uptime.
  • Quality & Safety: Conduct rigorous inspections to ensure work meets set standards and strictly enforce safety protocols.
  • Collaboration: Review construction documents with designers and owners; report directly to Construction/Field Managers to keep projects on track.
Knowledge and Required Skills:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as a Construction Foreman with specific expertise in Drainage, Paving (Asphalt & Concrete), and Site Work.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and plans.
  • Equipment Mastery: Strong knowledge of construction operations and heavy equipment.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
