Positions: 

  Notice: TURNER & TURNER CONTRACTING IS CURRENTLY SEEKING TO HIRE QUALIFIED TEMPORARY SECTION 3 WORKERS.
           Section 3 Workers are those who currently or when hired within the past five years fit at least one of the following categories, as documented: 
  • A LOW OR VERY LOW-INCOME RESIDENT (THE WORKER’S INCOME FOR THE PREVIOUS OR ANNUALIZED CALENDAR YEAR IS BELOW THE INCOME LIMIT ESTABLISHED BY HUD); OR
  • THE WORKER IS EMPLOYED BY A SECTION 3 BUSINESS CONCERN.
  • THE WORKER IS A YOUTHBUILD PARTICIPANT.
Heavy Equipment Operator:
​
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maneuver and manipulate equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, and graders.
  • Transport earth or other materials, erecting and installing construction materials, and laying down roadbeds
  • Maintain safety standards, inspecting machines, and performing basic repairs
  • Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.
  • Detect and fix operating problems.
  • Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
  • Ensure that all machinery and tools are available to the crew, and everything is in proper order.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of construction equipment and tools to ensure everything is in working condition.
  • Ensure company equipment, materials, and work sites are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.
  • Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Required Skills:
  • 5+ years’ experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to read manuals and blueprints/plans.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
General Laborer:
​
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ​Create and maintain an atmosphere wherein all employees will be stimulated and motivated to do things that need to be done to achieve desired results.
  • Continue to work in all areas of construction (each Job) as needed by Construction Manager, Field Manager, or others.
  • Measure materials, Cut or Saw Boards, etc.
  • Mark cutting lines, Anchor brace forms, etc.
  • Place and finish concrete, asphalt material as needed.
  • Erect forms, framework, scaffolds, and form setting.
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations.
  • Install structures and fixtures as needed.
  • Inspect job site as needed.
  • Clean job site as needed.
  • Report any deliberate abuse of company policy to construction or field Mgrs.
  • Always implement company values - ITR (Integrity, Trust, Respect)


Construction Superintendent:
Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Bringing about optimum utilization of resources- labor, materials, and equipment, and ensuring their procurement at most cost-effective terms.
  • Implementation of various operations through proper coordination and organization skills.
  • Development of effective communications and mechanisms for resolving conflicts among the various participants.
  • Ensure Safety and Compliance of all projects with the aid of QC manager.
  • Trainer for various field tasks.
  • Willingness to perform all field duties as/when need to meet production and goals for jobs.
  • Maintain Companies Core Values: Integrity-Trust-Respect.
  • Oversee the operations of construction projects from planning to completion.
  • Manage multiple projects, attend project meetings, Coordinate project meetings as needed
  • Ability to read plans, set elevations, operate equipment/trucks train field employees as such.
  • Report job activities, incidents, safety meetings, etc.
  • Direct-Supervision of Foreman, Subcontractors and all Field Employees.
  • Coordinate Vendors/Subcontractors and Schedules.
  • Willingness to assist Estimating dept. if/when needed. (Calculating materials, labor take off quantities, including job-site visits).
  • Willingness to Travel when/as needed as the company grows (Travel expense paid by T&T).
  • Acquire/Maintain SSHO/QC/OSHA certifications throughout employment.
  • Ability to make purchases in the best interest of the company up to $100 in value before prior approval is needed.
  • Direct authority to discipline and or terminate subordinate employees for just cause per Employee handbook.
  • Maintain 40hr work week limit for all field employees unless otherwise needed.
  • Lead/Coordinate/Schedule Safety meetings and topics.
  • Assist with Employee interview process when/as needed.
Knowledge and Required Skills:
  • 10 years’ experience as a construction superintendent (Drainage, Paving: Asphalt & Concrete, Site Work, and Hwy/Street/Road).
  • Excellent experience of construction operations and equipment.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • Ability to read blueprints/plans.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Precise planning and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication/social & leadership skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
​Must be able to successfully pass a background check.
